A、 Preparing for Planting
1.
Choose appropriate plant.
Carefully read the Section entitled "Applicable Plants"
and then select the plant variety suitable for your needs. Remember
that certain plant varieties may take time to adapt to the Living
-Colors Crystal-Soil environment, especially when young and fragile.
2. Carefully Clean Plant Roots.
Begin by removing any rotted roots. For plants grown in soil, moisten
them first and then lift them out. Wash away any soil, then remove
rotten roots and leaves. After cleaning, dry them in the air, being
careful not to damage the main roots. Most plants that normally
grow in shade may be planted in Living -Colors Crystal-Soil after
the plant's roots have been cleaned. Place plants having well-developed
root systems in clean water until roots have developed enough, and
then transplant them (the time needed before planting depends on
plant condition and ambient air temperature).
Instructions for plants placed in water: Clean earth off plant roots
and then place them in water, allowing the root area to soak for
awhile. Change the water after 4 days. Plants may be planted once
new roots extend from the plant stem.
3. Color Combinations. Arrange plants in pairs or groups, or any
desired combination. When placing flowers in a vase, it is better
to arrange Living -Colors Crystal-Soil colors in pairs or groups,
choosing those that have similar hues. For example choose a color
from among red, orange, yellow or purple hues and another from green
or blue hues. Avoid using too many colors when arranging plants
in pairs or groups.
4. Soaking Method
Soak dry Crystal-Soil particles for 2 to 4 hours, using a 1:50-100
ratio of Living -Colors Crystal-Soil to water. (Note: Do not stir
during soaking). For plants that survive best in a dry environment,
such as green leaf plants, ball and other cactus types, etc.; reduce
the ratio to about 1:50-60 for the soaking period. It is best to
soak Living -Colors Crystal-Soil in clean water (distilled, filtered
water or mineral water, or water cooled after boiling, etc.). Allowed
water stand before placing a few dry Living -Colors Crystal-Soil
particles at the bottom of the vase. The Living -Colors Crystal-Soil
will then absorb any access water.
B、 Planting
Wash
the vase and wipe it dry, place dry Living -Colors Crystal-Soil
particles at the bottom to absorb access water, and then spread
a level of Living -Colors Crystal-Soil on the bottom before placing
the desired color. Next place plant in the vase, letting plant roots
spread out and stretch. Place Living -Colors Crystal-Soil around
the root (If you have chosen a different color, then place Crystal-Soil
in the desired color order).
Crystal-Soil Depth: Cover roots completely up to vase curve, and
then lift plant up slightly in order to let roots stretch out. Finally
gently press down on the Living -Colors Crystal-Soil. Make sure
the plant is placed securely into soil and does not lean. After
planting, add a little water.
1. It is best to use flower disinfectants and handling fluids, and
then proceed to plant. Disinfect roots for 10 minutes using a potassium
permanganate solution (ratio of 3:1000), wash the root clean and
then dry root surfaces. Then choose a suitable container and stretch
out the root, and then simply plant right into the vase.
2. For some plants, such as little angel, gui bei zhu, splosh tree,
mary ann, ya ma xun and so forth, place a few water drops on leaves
during preparation. Some leaf surfaces may buckle when water level
is above, so do not spray leaf surfaces.
3. The container used for planting Living -Colors Crystal-Soil should
not be too big. The ideal size is 250-2500 milliliters. It is best
to plant them in low interior containers, allowing green leafy plants
to remain constantly in view.
C、 Care and Protection
1. Problem: Roots become damaged or some leaves turn yellow
After transplanting in soil or water, or Living -Colors Crystal-Soil,
some roots will become damaged and rot, or leaves will turn yellow.
Simply cut away the yellow leaves and any rotted roots. Cut them
soon enough so that growth is not affected and then plant in Living
-Colors Crystal-Soil. If there are too many rotted roots, then Living
-Colors Crystal-Soil will become spoiled. Cut them off and then
dry the Living -Colors Crystal-Soil and plant again.
2. Problem:
Living -Colors Crystal-Soil surface is stained, dusty or dirty Remove
any Living -Colors Crystal-Soil from surfaces and wash them clean.
Clean surface area and then place it back into vase.
3. Other Problems:
As required, add or change Living -Colors Crystal-Soil according
to plant and growing conditions, or periodically add nutrient fluids
in quantities appropriate to the plant's size. For most plants,
blow air on leaf surface every 1 to 2 weeks (leaf surface fertilizer
may be added to leaf surfaces). Note that leaves should not be blown
upon frequently, they may turn yellow. Remember that Living -Colors
Crystal-Soil itself will help maintain the soil, and as such watering
is usually not needed. Evidently, if Living -Colors Crystal-Soil
weakens, nutrient liquids may be added, normally at a ratio of 2
to1. In order to allow Living -Colors Crystal-Soil to absorb water
and expand, do not fill up container with water. This will decrease
its ventilation ability. Pour out any unnecessary water and then
let it dry.
D、 Notes
1.
Do not leave plants in direct sunlight long periods of time and
avoid any handling by children. For flowering plants, if the plant
soil surface dehydrates and shrinks, remove the soil's surface layer,
soak it briefly in water and then replace it.
2. Although Living -Colors Crystal-Soil has no odor, dying roots
and leaves or contaminants may give off smell. Cut off any damaged
roots and leaves and then replant.
3. The moisture and nutrients in Living -Colors Crystal-Soil will
gradually diminish as plants absorb and evaporate after adding water.
The particles will however expand again as they absorb water, so
Living -Colors Crystal-Soil can be reused.
4. Living -Colors Crystal-Soil is not poisonous and does not pollute.
It will not go bad or fade. Once Crystal-Soil foams, you may add
a fragrance that will be diffused into the room.
5. Do not place Living -Colors Crystal-Soil in direct sunshine,
and make sure it is out of reach of Children.
6.Living -Colors Crystal-Soil should not cover entire plant root.
Part of the root should remain above it. It is important that roots
be allowed to breathe.
7. Plants need to eat, so they must be provided with nutrients.

-Colors Crystal-Soil is appropriate to plant the leaf-view type
